MISSION
Music Masters Collective 501(c)(3) produces, one-of-a-kind interactive live music experiences hosted by world class artists designed to build community engagement, foster continuing education and facilitate legacy preservation.
OUR STORY
MMC is founded on a deep commitment to preserve the roots of original music by fostering direct relationships between musicians and the communities that surround them. Our intention is to curate events that serve to present and preserve musical legacy from a spectrum of genres while offering unprecedented access to artists and creators, thereby providing pathways for aspiring individuals (fans and musicians alike) to grow within’ the context of a supportive networking environment and make the connections to launch individual careers and/or initiatives in service of the music.
The events offer unparalleled opportunities to learn from world-class musicians in a highly engaging, interactive and creative environment. Programming and curriculum are designed to bridge the gap between artist and audience in an unprecedented inspirational atmosphere.
MMC shares a symbiotic relationship with Full Moon Resort, “a magical blend of lodging and music in nature”. Full Moon’s lodging, dining and customer service is integrated with MMC’s educational, artistic and social networking elements, such as forums, master classes, interactive sessions and exceptional live performance.
The organization is funded by a combination of registration fees, grants, sponsorships and the generous support of our donors.
Music Masters Collective is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Board oversees programming, manages capital reserves and directs annual operating budgets.
BACK STORY
In 1995, a group of friends gathered in NYC and dreamed of creating a home base for highly interactive and immersive music events set in an idyllic natural environment. Subsequently, in 2000, Henry Stout and Michael Densmore founded Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY. Initial programming featured weekend events with local and regional talent. By 2006 the concept had taken root with multi-day mid-week “camps” featuring high caliber national touring artists. Over the years, the program has blossomed, with weekly summer season featuring world-class musicians, spanning the spectrum of genres.
In 2019, the non-profit Music Masters Collective Inc. was formed with the mission of producing live music and interactive educational curriculum for musicians and music lovers of all backgrounds, skill levels and financial status. The intention is to offer an unparalleled level of access and connection to the music you love and the artists who make it happen.
